Pluto in Aquarius: A Major Cosmic Shift

On March 23rd, we have a once in a lifetime planetary ingress. After nearly 15 years in Capricorn, Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius. This is a rare, once in a lifetime cosmic event, since Pluto is such a slow moving planet.

After spending a long 15 years in structured Capricorn, Pluto is finally ready to move into future-oriented Aquarius. We’re only getting just a tease of this energy since Pluto will stay in Aquarius for just a few months as it will retrograde back to Capricorn later this year, before fully entering Aquarius again in 2024 and remain in the water bearer sign until 2044. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1777 to 1798 (yeah, that's how slow it moves).

Why is this transit a big deal?

Pluto in astrology is considered a generational planet. It's transit in a sign affects all of us as a generation, bringing about major upheaval related to the sign it is in. Pluto is known as the planet of transformation, power, secrets, wealth, deep psychological forces, and of death and rebirth. Wherever Pluto is transiting, it is where it will bring the biggest changes and transformation through a complete demolishing and rebuilding.

When Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008, it came with a reckoning force as we saw the global financial crisis, the burst of the housing bubble, the crash of Wall Street, and we were plunged into a recession. Capricorn is the sign that rules structure, government, authority, traditions, the economy, businesses, rules and regulations. As Pluto continued its transit through Capricorn, it continued to expose and transform issues related to the financial sector, big corporations, and regulations. The focus was on transforming and rebuilding the structures of society, as well as challenging the existing power structures.

So what does it mean for Pluto to be entering Aquarius?

Get ready to blast off baby, we going to space!

Aquarius is the future, it's the mad scientist, it's the humanitarian but also the rebel. It's the sign associated with technology, innovation, science, but also with community, freedom, and social justice causes. We can expect major transformations in these areas as well as a shift in the collective consciousness over the span of the next 20 years.

Artificial intelligence and technological advancements are most likely going to be a great emphasis during this transit and blow our minds in way we haven't seen before. Chat gpt and the metaverse are child's play compared to what we're about to experience. I wouldn't be able to predict what we're going to see because it hasn't been invented yet! However, over the course of the next 20 years, we can expect major breakthroughs in these fields that will change the way we live and interact with the world, and even the outer world! Yes, the outer space, Aquarius is associated with foreign entities, UFOs and aliens! So space exploration, space travel, AI, digital currency, scientific discoveries will take a whole new gear!

Where Capricorn is the top of the hierarchy (CEO, big boss, political leaders) Aquarius is the people. With Pluto in Aquarius for the next 2 decades, we will see a great emphasis not only on revolutionizing society through technological advancements and progressive ideas, but also on the desire to break free from traditional social norms and expectations. We will be pushed towards breaking down traditional structures, challenging the status quo and advocating for equality and justice for all.

The last Pluto in Aquarius (1777-1798) was a time of revolutionary and radical political changes. One great example was the French Revolution of 1789 that resulted in the overthrow of the French monarchy and in establishing a republic. Power (Pluto) was removed from the King and a republic with more rights and power to the people (Aquarius) was born for the first time ever. In addition, the concept of a man's right to vote was adopted in France with the Déclaration des droits de l’homme et du citoyen (the declaration of the rights of man and of the citizen). This time period coincided also with the on going continuation of the American revolution that had started in 1776 and the beginning of the Haitian revolution.

It will be interesting to see what Pluto in Aquarius brings this time around. Maybe a focus towards more community based groups versus individual leader? More of a group/herd mentality? More of a one for all system? A new digital currency? Share your thoughts below!
